The trip is postponed (until next year)
Well, I've been struggling with this since this weekend, but I've made the decision to postpone my bike trip. The point of riding 500 miles in 5 days was to see what it would be like on my trip. Well, I came to the realization that I am going to need more time than I have allotted. And, unfortunately, I just don't have the vacation time or time in general this year. So, we'll look at next year. I'm really bummed about this, but I know it's the right thing to do. I suppose I could try to really tough it out, but I don't think I would enjoy the trip and what's the point if you can't enjoy it. So, instead, I am going to take the motorcycle. I believe I'll follow the same route on the way out there. Partly to see the route before riding my bike on it and partly because it should be beautiful. On the way back, I'm thinking I'll ride the Skyline Dr, Blue Ridge Pwky, and the Natchez Trace. All in all, not a total loss.
