Hi!

My name is Charles, but in various circles people call me "CMan" - hence the name on this blog.

I am just a typical cyclist who enjoys almost anything to do with bikes.  I've been riding bikes for close to 15 years and have raced quite bit.  Right now my focus is on riding my bicycle from Texas to Virginia.

This blog started in 2017 as I was training and gearing up for a dream I've had a long time - to ride a bicycle from my front door to my parent's.  Originally, that meant riding from Texas to Maine, but now, since my folks have moved, it means riding from Texas to Virginia.

The purpose of this blog is to share with friends (and anyone else who is interested) this adventure and possibly others that I hope to have "On Two-Wheels".

Finishing the TransAmerica Bike Route (Hopewell, VA to Yorktown, VA) - 59.7 miles

Erin flew in Monday with her bike.  So, yesterday, she and I rode the last of the TransAmercia Bike Route to Yorktown, VA. We left my parent's house and rode out over the same draw bridge I rode over Sunday night, then picked up where I left off on the Virginia Capital Trail .  It's a multi-use trail running from Richmond to Williamsburg and is used by runners, cyclists, and walkers.  It's really neat that they created this trail and how long it is (52 miles).  They also seem to take good care of it.  At one point, a truck was driving down it towing a blower to blow stuff off the trail. (Finally had some company on the road.) The Capital Trail parallels Route 5 and runs along and through wooded areas and farm land.  Sometimes there were corn fields right next to the trail - so close I could reach out and run my hands through them if I wanted to.  You could even smell the corn (which was amazing if you ask me). UPDATE: Quick Update

I'm just getting back to the hotel and wanted to send in a quick update. If you were watching my track this afternoon, you might have wondered what I was doing when I didn't stop at 125 miles.  I was feeling pretty good and decided to ride the last 55 miles or so into Tulsa. Crazy, I know. 185 miles for the day! Since I was going to be in Tulsa anyways, I'm going to take tomorrow off and chill. I'll also post up some pictures and write up the last two days.
